Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher in Hixson, TN to assist the Lead Teacher in providing hands-on learning experiences for infants to preschoolers. You will help create a safe, engaging classroom and communicate with families daily.

Ideal candidates help with lesson delivery, maintain classroom organization, supervise transitions, and support documentation and reporting. This is a full-time role with benefits and growth opportunities.

• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Assistant Teacher -- Hixson, Tennessee

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. Working alongside your Lead Teacher, you will support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth. From hands-on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them. You will serve as a trusted partner to families, a positive role model for children, and an important part of our collaborative teaching team dedicated to making early childhood education engaging, nurturing, safe, and fun.

What Your Day Looks Like

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the Infant, Toddler or Preschool classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time

Pay And Benefits

Pay: 13-15 per hour, based on experience and education.
