Position Overview: The Assistant Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in implementing the curriculum and philosophy, focusing on literacy and mathematics activities with children through small group and individual lessons.

Philosophy and Curriculum

• Assist in preparing using Lead Teacher’s Topic Studies and Weekly Intentions.
• Familiarize with the established educational trajectory.
• Develop literacy and math lessons aligned with the curriculum.
• Complete and share Monthly Intentions by the 1st of each month.
• Ensure materials and teaching methods are developmentally appropriate and stimulating.
• Use technology pedagogically and intentionally.

Physical Environment

• Assist in creating a welcoming, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization daily.
• Respect and resource school materials appropriately.
• Reflect evidence of learning in the classroom.

Interactions with Children

• Be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Show mutual respect and use developmentally appropriate interactions.
• Greet children warmly and adhere to positive discipline policies.
