Why Teach at Lupine Lane?

We value our teachers as educators, creative thinkers, and essential members of our school community.

About the Position

As an Assistant Teacher at Lupine Lane, you'll work alongside a Lead Teacher and fellow educators to create a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where children feel safe, respected, capable, and excited to learn.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Building warm, trusting, and responsive relationships with children.
  • Collaborating with the Lead Teacher to implement engaging, project-based Topic Studies and meaningful learning experiences.
  • Supporting children's emerging independence, communication, creativity, problem-solving, and social-emotional development.
  • Guiding children through everyday challenges with patience, empathy, consistency, and developmentally appropriate expectations.
  • Helping prepare and maintain an inviting classroom environment that encourages exploration, discovery, and meaningful play.
  • Actively engaging with children during classroom activities, outdoor play, transitions, meals, and daily routines.
  • Observing children's interests and developmental progress and sharing insights with the teaching team.
  • Supporting children's health, safety, hygiene, and personal care needs with kindness and respect.
  • Communicating thoughtfully and professionally with colleagues, school leadership, and families.
  • Contributing ideas, creativity, and initiative to support the classroom community.
Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate:

  • Genuinely enjoys working with young children and finds meaning in early childhood education.
  • Is warm, patient, dependable, enthusiastic, and nurturing.
  • Understands that children's behavior is a form of communication and values positive, respectful guidance.
  • Is actively engaged with children and comfortable participating in play, exploration, and hands-on learning.
  • Takes initiative, notices what needs to be done, and contributes thoughtfully to the classroom.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues while also demonstrating independence and sound judgment.
  • Communicates professionally, respectfully, and openly.
  • Is flexible, reflective, and willing to learn and grow.
  • Shares our commitment to treating children, families, and colleagues with kindness and respect.

Previous experience working with young children is preferred. Education or training in early childhood development is valued, but we also welcome candidates who demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to learning.

Come Grow With Us!

At Lupine Lane, we believe early childhood education is profoundly important work. Every member of our teaching team helps shape the foundation for children's relationships, confidence, curiosity, and lifelong love of learning.
