Ohio University is hiring an Assistant Teacher. The role involves teaching and caring for young children, planning and implementing classroom activities, communicating with families, and supporting the Assistant Professor of Instruction with curriculum and documentation for licensing and accreditation. The Assistant Teacher also models best practices for Early Childhood Education candidates and participates in professional development.
Highlights

  • Take full responsibility for the classroom 2 hours per day and during the absence of the Assistant Professor.
  • Collaborate with and support the Assistant Professor of Instruction in documentation, family conferences, and other classroom needs.
  • Complete required licensing training and ongoing professional development.
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and less than 3 years of related professional experience or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience with Reggio Emilia inspired work, emergent curriculum, and nature-based education.
  • Works under close supervision with no direct supervisory responsibility but may assist in training student employees.
  • Full-time position; Pay range is $14.65-$22.71 per hour, non-exempt status.
