Job summary

St. Joseph School District is seeking a coach for Benton High School athletics and activities. The role requires a current teaching or substitute certificate with 60 college credits and solid coaching skills.

The incumbent will report to the Athletic Director, maintain equipment inventories, and ensure a safe, organized environment for student athletes while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
• Must understand the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.

Responsibilities

• Attend work regularly and on time.
• Instruct and demonstrate sport skill sets and techniques for individuals and teams.
• Maintain and inventory, clean and store athletic equipment and uniforms.
• Ensure a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Required: Current teaching certificate or substitute certificate with 60 college credit hours. Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Must possess some knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students. Must be able to pass background screening including fingerprinting.

Preferred: Experience in sport required and knowledge of MSHSAA High School swimming.

Purpose:

Provides coaching and direction for student athletes. Assists students in achieving a high level of skill and appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in respectivesport.

Essential Job Functions:

• Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
• Instruct and demonstrate skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement.
• Ensure the proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment, uniforms, and updated inventories are maintained.
• Maintain a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times.
• Other assigned duties.
