Job summary

North Scott Community YMCA in Eldridge, IA is seeking an Assistant Swim Team Coach to support the Head Coach in daily practices and meets. The role offers evenings and weekend shifts with a $12.00 hourly pay and a chance to develop competitive swimming skills among participants of all ages.

You will foster good sportsmanship, safety, and YMCA core values while delivering age-appropriate instruction and on-deck coaching during meets; involvement includes warm-ups and timing responsibilities.

Qualifications

Competitive swimming or coaching background preferred.
Strong communication and leadership with youth and families.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
CPR/AED, First Aid, Lifeguard certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Must be able to become USA Swimming certified.
Must be at least 16 years of age.

Responsibilities

Support Head Coach in daily practice planning and implementation.
Provide positive, safe, and age-appropriate instruction to swimmers of varying skill levels.
Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and YMCA core values in and out of the pool.
Assist with swim meets, including warm-ups, timing, and coaching on deck.
Help maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
