Job Description

Under the supervision of the Head Swim Team Coach, the Swim Team Coach is responsible to ensure all participants are provided with activities which promote the social, cultural, educational, physical and leadership potential of the child. The Swim Team Coach will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y and the regulating agency. The Swim Team Coach will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties.

JOB FUNCTION
  • Program/Department Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for daily practice sessions up to and including the structure and documentation of daily practice sessions.
  • Provide periodic advisory meetings with parents.
  • Attend assigned meets as agreed upon with the Association Head Swim Team Coach.
  • Support the coordination of team record keeping.
  • Promote awareness of program to community.
  • Fiscal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safety of all Swim Team children in pool areas and locker room during scheduled facility hours.
  • Report to work station at least 15 minutes prior to the start of all meets and practice sessions.
  • Responsible for set up and take down of swim team equipment.
  • Ensure that all swimmers have exited facility before leaving facility
  • Leave facility properly secured ensuring that all equipment has been put away, pools are covered, if applicable, and all doors are locked.
  • Works with Association Head Swim Team Coach and Financial Development on fundraising events
