Tumwater School District No. 33 is seeking an Assistant Swim/Dive Coach for the Combined Black Hills High/Tumwater High programs. The stipend starts at $3,542 for the August 2026–October 2026 season.

The role involves direct leadership of athletes, supervision of practices and events, and ensuring safety and compliance with district and league rules. Applicants must pass fingerprint clearance, hold current First Aid/CPR certification, and meet WIAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance required.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification and any applicable WIAA requirements.
• Experience as head or assistant coach in swimming/diving or related activities.
• Ability to motivate student athletes and interact positively with diverse age groups and backgrounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and organization for all levels of the assigned sport/activity; support Head Coach.
• Supervise athletes and manage practices, conditioning, games, travel, and school events.
• Develop objectives for the sport/activity and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain knowledge of league and district rules related to sport participation and parental involvement.
• Manage budget, equipment, inventory, and maintain safe facilities and equipment.
