Job summary

Geneva Lakes Family YMCA is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach to support the head coach in daily operations of competitive swimming programs. You will help develop, organize and implement high-quality, member-focused YMCA programs while ensuring safety and proper stroke technique.

The role requires 1–2 years related experience, a minimum age of 18, and completion of CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days of hire, with ongoing maintenance of certifications.

Qualifications

• Under the direction of the head coach, develops strategies to encourage swimmers to reach goals.
• Communicates effectively with participants and families.
• Demonstrates ability to teach swimming skills and proper stroke techniques.
• Maintain CPR & AED, USA Swimming, and YMCA Swimming certifications within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach with daily operations of competitive programs.
• Help develop, organize and implement high-quality, member-focused YMCA programs.
• Assist in practice and meet prep as needed.
• Assist with fundraising activities and special events as needed.
• Model Y values and respond to member inquiries in a timely manner.
• Travel, weekends and nights may be required.
