Job Description

Assist in developing and training AA student‑athletes; organize and prepare practice schedules; promote discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship; maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and the community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations.
• Ability to develop and train AA student‑athletes.
• Personal skills reflecting positive relations with high school student-athletes, parents, and community.
• Extensive knowledge of the principles of individual and team fundamentals of the listed sports.
• Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules.
• Ability to develop solid discipline emphasizing teamwork and good sportsmanship.
• Previous coaching experience required.
• Preference for candidates holding or eligible for a Virginia teaching license.

Physical Conditions and Work Environment

Duties are performed in school settings including gym and recreational areas; frequent walking, standing, light lifting, and other physical activities required. Daily personal and close contact with student-athletes and regular travel to and from matches. Regular contact with other coaches, administrators, parents, and the media.
