Qualifications

• Some work experience in the field is beneficial.
• Ability to secure all required USA Swimming credentials.
• Current lifeguard and CPR certification.
• Demonstrated ability to work well and communicate effectively with students, staff, public, and other administrators.
• Ability to project a positive and professional outlook, manner, and appearance.
• Ability to demonstrate mature judgment, reliability, availability, and ethical behavior, including punctuality, confidentiality, and the ability to function effectively in a multitasking environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to give direction, provide leadership, and evaluate the performance of others.
• Three or more years of experience teaching swimming, with demonstrated effectiveness in helping athletes achieve superior performance and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Act as an assistant coach for aquatic center-sponsored teams
• Act as an instructor for the instructional program as scheduled
• Assist in the management of all hosted meets
• Assist in the evaluation of volunteer coaches
• Supervise locker rooms before and after practices
• Coordinate practices, meet lineups, and provide instruction for assigned age groups/teams
• Coordinate and/or assist in the running of all competitive events
• Coordinate and/or assist in running all competitive swim instruction programming
• Is responsible for the upkeep of instructional and competitive equipment
• Other duties as assigned
