Job description

Assistant Swim Coach and Assistant Director of Aquatics

This full-time position combines the roles of Assistant Swim Coach and Assistant Director of Aquatics. The responsibilities include coaching for the men’s and women’s swim teams and overseeing operations at the Kline Center pool. The assistant coach will support the Head Coach in athlete recruitment, practice administration, marketing, clinics, leadership development, and game strategy. The ideal candidate will excel in athlete development and aquatic facility management.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and mentor the swim team, fostering accountability and a team-oriented culture, while reinforcing the Head Coach’s expectations.
  • Recruit talented student-athletes through site visits, campus meetings, and effective communication of the college’s values.
  • Assist in coordinating practices, teaching athletic skills, implementing training plans, supporting strength training, and developing meet strategies. Help organize team travel and meals.
  • Manage team social media and communication channels, and assist with marketing efforts to alumni and recruits.
  • Monitor and support student-athletes’ academic progress through individual assessments.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and operation of the Kline Center pool, including water quality testing, chemical management, and coordination with vendors and staff to maintain safety standards.
