Job summary

Carolina Sweepers in North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Sweeping & Portering Manager to support the Sweeping & Portering Manager in daily operations. You will help create staff schedules, audit routes, and guide performance evaluations to drive excellence in service delivery across locations.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, excellent customer service, and the ability to work in a team. A valid driver license and the willingness to work varied shifts are required.

As our next Assistant Sweeping & Portering Manager, you will support the Sweeping & Portering Manager

in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our sweeping and portering teams. This role requires a self-

motivated and detail-oriented leader who can help manage daily operations while working toward the

team’s long-term goals. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and work well in a team

environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assists the Sweeping & Portering Manager in overseeing the day-to-day workflow
• Helps create employee schedules across all locations
• Auditing routes
• Assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, providing recommendations for

promotion and salary adjustment as appropriate

• Collaborates with the team to set performance standards
• Helps conduct regular staff meetings to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly communicated;

provides guidance and leadership to enable staff to meet these goals and objectives

• Identifies training needs and opportunities; assists in developing and implementing a plan for meeting

those needs

• Maintains and develops positive relationships with existing clients, demonstrating excellent customer

service and setting an example for other staff

• Ensures staff are following company guidelines and policies
• You will drive a company vehicle to and from jobsites
• Sweeping and portering when needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Availability to work varying hours as needed, including day and overnight shifts
• Ability to work on ladders/roofs and near retention ponds
• Ability to lift 100 lbs or more
• Willingness to work outside in all kinds of weather and come in contact with trash

This position is perfect with a range of backgrounds such as; General manager, Fleet manager, Construction

manager, Sweeping manager ex. experience is a plus.
