Job description

Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified Surveyor-in-Training (S.I.T.) to join our Client's team at their Spring Branch, Texas location. This position will be responsible for assisting a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in a variety of surveying services.

Responsibilities:

  • Process data collected via Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to obtain necessary results.
  • Perform calculations to establish coordinates for survey control and survey measurements.
  • Prepare tentative and final tract maps, parcel maps, Record of Survey maps, ALTA maps, corner records, right-of-way maps, and similar documents from a variety of source documents and data.
  • Perform field checks, correct, and supplement maps prior to delivery to a client.
  • Conduct physical tasks such as pounding stakes, setting monuments, clearing lines, etc.
  • Read and understand title commitments, engineering, and architectural plans.
  • Process and review survey data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain close communication with the RPLS to report survey progress, problems, and possible resolutions to issues hampering project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in land surveying or equivalent experience required.
  • B.S. degree in land surveying is a plus.
  • S.I.T. registered in Texas.
  • Minimum of 3 years of surveying experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the methods and techniques of cross-country utility surveying.
  • Proficient in GPS survey methods, electronic data collection, and the processes and computer programs necessary for survey data review and transfer to mapping.
  • Physical requirements include walking over uneven terrain and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
