Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in San Antonio seeks a maintenance technician to uphold exhibits and holding pools, coordinate schedules and ensure safety standards are met. You will supervise routines, review area work plans and support daily operations with a proactive maintenance mindset.

The role requires four years of related experience, a two-year degree or equivalent, CPR/First Aid/Open Water certs, and strong communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office other tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Must have four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; DMV report may be requested.
• Must be CPR, First Aid and Open Water certified.
• Must be current and trained on all applicable company safety training.
• Must have basic computer skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Must be able to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Training team members, planning, assisting and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Stay current on all OSHA dive regulations.
• Utilize safe handling, storage and disposal practices for toxic substances and hazardous waste.
• Coordinate and perform tasks to maintain exhibits and holding pools; prepare and review area work schedules.

Basic Job function

Enthusiastically represents the company by displaying a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. Coordinates and performs tasks necessary to maintain the appearance of exhibits and holding pools by performing the following duties. Prepares and reviews area work schedules.

Principal duties

• Maintains all records on equipment, maintenance and daily dive longs.


• Responsible for maintaining machinery and associated dive equipment by ensuring service calls on repairs are made.


• Assists in the coordination of preventive maintenance program and spare parts inventory.


• Ensures proper operation of the compressed breathing air compressor.


• Responsible for the coordination and service of all ozone contact chambers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; training team members, planning, assisting and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Must stay current on all OSHA dive regulations. Utilizes safe handling, storage and disposal practices for toxic substance and hazardous waste in accordance with SeaWorld and department operating procedures.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Education, and Training

• Must be at least 18 years of age.


• Must have an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.


• Must have four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; visiting students and military must have a valid driver’s license from state of residency and able to provide a copy of the DMV report.


• Must be C.P.R., First Aid and Open Water certified.


• Must be current and trained on all applicable company safety training.


• Must have basic computer skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

• Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members.
