Job summary

Ambu in Noblesville, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to support day-to-day production operations. You will assign work, manage staffing, monitor safety, and ensure product quality to specifications.

Timekeeping, performance management, and issue resolution on the line are key parts of the role. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 5 years of related experience, and English proficiency; medical device experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report production data into production reporting system.
• Respond to employee concerns and escalate when necessary.
• Performance management for production employees (corrective actions, improvement plans).
• Monitor productivity and performance against targets and quality levels.
• Conduct documented conversations addressing absenteeism and support.
• Give work assignments to production assemblers per staffing plan.
• Foster open communication with all employees.
• Maintain product quality by enforcing standards.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure PPE usage.
• Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data and identifying solutions.
• Ensure time and attendance is recorded accurately.
• Review/correct employee timecards.
• Ensure resources and assets are used efficiently.
• Support supervisor duties and fill in when needed.
• Support training functions and the Training Lead.
• All other duties as assigned.

Objective

This position supports the Supervisor, Manufacturing in the day to day activities of manufacturing. This includes creating work assignments, personnel support and management, timekeeping, addressing safety concerns, ensuring manufacturing efficiency and that product is being built to the specifications.

Responsibilities And Essential Functions

• Report production data into production reporting system.
• Responsible for responding to employee concerns, escalating concerns to the appropriate personnel when necessary and following up with employees during this process.
• Responsible for performance management for production employees, such as administering corrective actions, personnel improvement plans and appreciation for good work.
• Monitor productivity and performance levels of the team in relation to production targets and quality levels.
• Conducts documented conversations with employees to address absenteeism and offer support when needed.
• Gives work assignments to production assemblers in accordance to the staffing plan.
• Foster an environment of open communication with all employees.
• Maintains product quality by enforcing organizational standards.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of equipment and resources.
• Ensures that production personnel are wearing proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
• Ensure that time and attendance occurrences are accurately recorded on the employee’s timecards.
• Review/correct employee timecards to ensure time is accurately recorded.
• Ensure all manufacturing resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly.
• Support the supervisor and act as a supervisor fill in when needed.
• Support training functions and the Training Lead when needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Authorities

• Stop production when product is not meeting the quality specifications.
• Discard products that have been damaged, contaminated or do not conform to product specifications.
• Discipline and terminate employees in accordance with company policy and involvement from the next level up of leadership
• Summon maintenance technicians as needed.
• Report safety, quality or other concerns on the line side or department boards and responsible personnel.

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing facility and as a result, employees have the potential to be exposed to noise, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, machinery, vibration or other workplace hazards controlled within compliance of current safety and health standards.

Qualifications
