Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking a vigilant Health Services leader to supervise the Medical Services department. You will coordinate emergency care, ensure protocol adherence, and mentor staff across the park.

This role requires clinical EMS or hospital experience, active nurse/paramedic/EMT licensure, and strong communication. A proactive, adaptable professional is preferred for variable shifts and water-adjacent environments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of active clinical EMS or hospital experience.
  • Ability to complete Health Care Provider CPR training/certification.
  • Experience with OSHA programs and worker's compensation a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency and first aid care to guests and employees.
  • Assist overseeing operations of Health Services Unit.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor regarding status of cases and unit operations.
  • Mentor new and existing staff to ensure high quality service.
  • Ensure thorough injury/illness reports and appropriate follow ups.
  • Adjust schedules/assignments as needed to meet demand.
  • Oversee daily operations of Medical Services department.
  • Ensure adherence to medical protocols and adequate staffing.
  • Supervise worker’s compensation programs and relations with providers/insurers.
  • Oversee park-wide medical training and drug testing programs.
  • Supervise medical wellness initiatives.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and development of staff.
  • Plan and maintain area labor and expense budgets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you get to do:
  • Provide emergency and first aid care to guests and employees
  • Assist with overseeing operations of Health Services Unit
  • Ongoing communication with supervisor department manager regarding status of employee cases and operations of unit
  • Ongoing mentoring of new and existing staff to ensure high quality of service and thorough understanding of existing protocols
  • Ensure injury/illness reports are thorough, interventions appropriate, follow ups are completed
  • Be proactive in making adjustments to schedule/assignments when needed
  • Supervises the daily operations of the Medical Services department
  • Supervise the daily operation of Medical Services
  • Ensures company medical protocols are adhered to including maintaining adequate staffing levels to meet response guidelines.
  • Supervise worker’s compensation program (including return to work, limited duty, medical provider network, professional relationship with medical providers and insurance company)
  • Oversee park-wide medical training and drug testing programs (including camper medication check-in process)
  • Supervise the administration of medical wellness needs
  • Supervise performance of staff including hiring, training, and development
  • Plans and maintains area labor and expense budgets
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
  • Must have current State Registered Nurse, Paramedic or EMT license
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of active clinical experience in an EMS system or hospital setting,
  • Be able to complete provided Health Care Provider CPR training/certification
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to multi-task and adapt to changes in a fast paced work environment
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter with good organizational skills, Comfortable working in/around water
  • Be able to carry a bag weighing approximately 35 pounds to all calls throughout the park, including up and down stairs
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Comfortable with heights
  • Comfortable with exposure to noise, vibrations and motion
  • Be able to train on and properly use protective gear
  • Comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor
  • Comfortable working around chemicals
  • Be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes
  • Available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
What else is important:
  • Prior experience with OSHA programs, vaccines and worker's compensation case management a plus
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs are a plus
  • Emergency-based experience and triage skills are preferred
  • Possession of a valid state driver’s license preferred
  • Have at least 1 year of leadership experience, supervising a team of staff members preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience within the Health Services Department preferred
Compensation:

25.00 USD per hour
