Washington University in St. Louis is seeking an experienced supervisor to assist with day-to-day oversight of clinical office staff providing clerical and clinical support.
You will help coordinate workflow, schedule coverage, supervise personnel, and ensure efficient operations in a busy medical office setting. Previous medical office experience and strong organizational skills are essential. The role includes interviewing, onboarding, maintaining supplies, and supporting budgets and reporting.
Position Summary Assists with the day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for clinical office staff, which provide clerical/clinical support for department/division.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Assists with supervisory clerical/clinical staff, including efficient workflow and adequate coverage. Ensures equipment is maintained adequately. Requests and monitors medical and clerical supplies. Assists with interviewing, screening applicants and orients new staff. Prepares various schedules, literature searches and request journal articles and retrieve books for physicians. Arranges meetings and assists with maintaining office policies. Performs secretarial duties, such as typing, medical transcription, filing, and routing telephone calls. Schedules patient appointments when needed. May assist with budgets or reporting. Assists with evaluations, recommendations and or disciplinary actions for personnel supervised.
$19.93 - $29.93 / Hourly The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
