SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in New York, NY seeks an Assistant Supervisor / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 1 in Virology & Molecular Pathology to lead daily operations and ensure testing quality. You will supervise staff, coordinate QC, and maintain inventories while performing clinical laboratory procedures as needed.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, staff training, test performance, and collaboration with the laboratories to support ongoing patient care.

Responsabilités

• Maintain compliance with departmental, hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Function as Assistant Supervisor responsible for the operation of a laboratory.
• Oversee day to day laboratory operations, review quality control, performance improvement activities.
• Performs clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and any other tests or procedures conducted by the virology and molecular labs.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting on virology and molecular instruments.
• Assure timely performance of laboratory testing procedures.
• Train personnel in technical methodologist and interpretation of result.
• Record and archive operation test and QC results.
• Maintain inventory and statistics.
• Schedule and assign staff to specific job functions.
• Assist in coordinating administrative operations for the laboratories.
• Demonstrate flexibility and perform other job-related tasks as needed/required, as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.
