Job summary

A field lead is needed to assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with planning, scheduling, utility coordination, traffic control, and pay requests while maintaining thorough project records. Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years in water, force main, sanitary sewer, or storm drainage construction; OSHA Supervisor Training and related certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years in water, force main, sanitary sewer, or storm drainage construction.
  • Preferred certifications include OSHA Supervisor Training, Trenching and Excavation Competent Person, Rigging, Qualified Work Zone Traffic Control Supervisor, Flagger Certification, and First Aid/CPR.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and detail orientation required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with project planning and scheduling.
  • Coordinate utilities, traffic control, and subcontractor scheduling.
  • Manage material and equipment coordination and inspections; track quantities and pay requests.
  • Maintain project documentation and coordinate with owners, engineers, utility companies, NCDOT, subcontractors, and local authorities.
  • Support training of team members and uphold safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Core Duties

Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with project planning, scheduling, utility coordination, traffic control, subcontractor scheduling, material and equipment coordination, inspections, utility conflict resolution, quantity tracking, pay requests, and as-built drawings. Maintain project documentation, coordinate with owners, engineers, utility companies, NCDOT, subcontractors, and local authorities, ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, support the training of team members, and stay current with industry best practices.

Education, Training & Certifications

Preferred qualifications include 1-3+ years of experience in water, force main, sanitary sewer, or storm drainage construction. Preferred certifications include OSHA Supervisor Training, Trenching and Excavation Competent Person, Rigging, Qualified Work Zone Traffic Control Supervisor, Flagger Certification, and First Aid/CPR.
