Job summary

Grunley Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to provide general support to the Superintendent on a Chambersburg, PA project. You will oversee safety, coordination, and tool use within your area of responsibility, with potential duties as site safety officer or environmental control officer.

Reports to the Superintendent and Director of Field Operations; requires high school diploma, 3+ years as Foreman/Field Engineer (or 8 years experience in lieu of degree), OSHA 10, CPR, First

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• At least 3 years as Foreman/Field Engineer; 8 years of construction experience allowed in lieu of degree.
• OSHA 10 hour, CPR, First Aid certifications required (current or obtainable before start date).
• Ability to learn new technical and non-technical information and communicate clearly with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent and assist in daily reports, deliveries, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate subcontractors and direct Grunley manpower in your area and read construction drawings/specifications.
• Lead safety meetings and monitor for unsafe conditions; implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate work with subcontractors and align with project schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools.

The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for general support of the Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent supervises a specific part of the project and is responsible for safety, overall coordination, and the use and care of tools within that area of responsibility. The Assistant Superintendent may also be assigned as the site safety officer, environmental control officer, or other specialty responsibility, if duly qualified.

Reports to: Superintendent and administratively to the Director of Field Operations

Requirements

• Required Education
  • High School Diploma
• Required Experience
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Foreman or Field Engineer and knowledge of multiple construction trades. In lieu of degree, must have eight (8) years of construction experience and knowledge of multiple construction trades.
• Required Certifications
  • 10 hour OSHA
  • CPR Certified
  • First Aid Certified (current or be able to obtain before project start date)
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must be capable of learning new technical and non-technical information and applying it in the field in relatively short time periods.
  • Must be able to take and give direction and be able to communicate clearly with staff at all levels of field operations.
  • Must be a self-starter who can execute and complete assigned activities.

The salary range for this role will be $90,000.00-$115,000.00.
