Job summary

Mystic Dunes Resort, located in Kissimmee, FL, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee day-to-day golf course operations under the Golf Course Superintendent and contribute to irrigation, fertilization, and staff management. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience and a relevant Turf Grass Management degree or certificate.

A valid driver license is required; pesticide licensing within six months is expected.

Qualifications

• Two-year certificate, associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Turf Grass Management or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years golf course maintenance experience.
• Ability to obtain NC pesticide license within six months of employment.
• Must have a valid driver license.
• Ability to work holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and train staff of full-time, part-time and seasonal employees.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling and implementation of maintenance practices and projects.
• Apply fertilizers and plant protectants with calibration of sprayers and spreaders; record all applications and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform irrigation scheduling and basic irrigation repairs.
• Perform basic mowing tasks and turf maintenance as needed.
• Safely operate golf course equipment (carts, mowers, rakes, etc.).
• Monitor changing course conditions and communicate needs to the Superintendent.
