The Assistant Superintendent role supports day‑to‑day jobsite operations under the Superintendent, helping coordinate field activities, maintain documentation, and reinforce safety and quality standards while developing toward Superintendent I.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; practical experience may substitute.
  • 0–2 years of construction field or construction-management experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs or show progress toward this skill.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling, and field-reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate assigned work areas and communicate daily priorities with trade partners.
  • Maintain daily reports, progress photos, delivery records, inspections, and field documentation.
  • Review drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and RFI responses.
  • Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, access, housekeeping, and temporary protection.
  • Develop targeted look-ahead schedules and track project constraints and commitments.
  • Participate in daily huddles, planning, and trade partner meetings.
  • Support MEP coordination and identify potential cross-trade conflicts.
  • Support inspections, pre-installation meetings, mockups, and punch-list activities.
  • Reinforce jobsite safety and quality expectations.
  • Identify and escalate safety, quality, design, procurement, logistics, cost, and schedule risks.
  • Build professional relationships with trade partners, owners, architects, inspectors, and project team members.

Job Summary

The Assistant Superintendent is an early-career field leadership role supporting day-to-day jobsite operations while developing the skills needed to advance to Superintendent I.

Working under the direction of the Superintendent, you’ll help coordinate field activities, maintain project documentation, support scheduling and trade coordination, reinforce safety and quality standards, and identify potential issues before they impact the project.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred; relevant trade, apprenticeship, internship, co-op, or field experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Typically 0–2 years of construction field or construction-management experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, or demonstrated ability to develop this skill.
  • Familiarity with, or ability to learn, Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling, and field-reporting systems.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, reliability, and safety awareness.
  • Desire to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and grow into a construction field leadership role.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $92k-$115k

While performing the office-related duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Employees are required as necessary to drive Company pickup trucks with attached trailers; safe driving records and the ability to drive trailered items are required as necessary.The employee must be able to work day, evening, night, and/or weekend shifts as required.

Physical demands include climbing ladders, stooping, crouching, or bending, working from heights (scaffolding, roof tops, towers, etc.) and operating boom/scissor lifts.At the jobsite, while performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.Environmental conditions at jobsites may include dirt, dust, extreme weather, uneven walking surfaces, hazardous materials, and loud noise.Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds.No adverse environmental conditions are expected.
