Job summary

CBG Building Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to manage day-to-day field operations on multifamily construction projects. You’ll oversee subcontractors to meet schedule, budget, and quality while maintaining a safe, clean jobsite.

The role requires 2–3 years in field construction management, and familiarity with scheduling, contract administration, and safety regulations. ProCore/BlueBeam and MS Office experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of field construction management experience.
• Undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related discipline is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, and safety regulations.
• Ability to communicate clearly with a team including tradespeople, inspectors, clients, etc.
• Experience with ProCore, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain project schedules with critical-path focus and adherence to completion dates.
• Manage multiple subcontractors—coordinate weekly meetings, supervise work, and track punch list.
• Assist in jobsite utilization planning for facilities, materials, and equipment movement.
• Assist with preconstruction surveys documenting existing site conditions.
• Ensure adherence to CBG safety standards (OSHA/HAZCOM) and regulatory requirements.

Job description

An Assistant Superintendent has the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to manage the day-to-day field operations of multifamily construction projects. As Assistant Superintendent, you will oversee the subcontractors’ work to ensure a complete project in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will work to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.

Experience and Qualifications

• Two (2) to three (3) years of construction management experience in a field role.
• An undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc. as well as safety and government regulations.
• Able to work and communicate clearly and effectively with a team including tradespeople, inspectors, clients, etc.
• Ability to effectively work in sector-specific software such as ProCore or BlueBeam, as well as some experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• OSHA 30 is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work weekends as needed.
• Must be able to travel locally to project sites as needed.
• In coordination with the Project Superintendent, become proficient with the creation and maintenance of a job schedule that defines the critical path and shows completion of the project according to contract completion dates and building turnover sequence.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to safely navigate a construction project site including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights.
• This position regularly works on-site at a construction job site where the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to loud.
