Job summary

BRAVO, based in New York City, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support multiple projects for a NYC Public Agency, primarily in the second shift. This role offers a path for a junior to intermediate Superintendent or a PM looking to gain field experience within a subcontractor environment.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or related field, with at least five years in construction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of work experience as a technical specialist in the construction industry.
• At least two (2) years must have involved managing all phases of construction work on multiple projects.
• Experience in new and modernization type construction, including the management or monitoring of at least two (2) projects of substantial value.
• Proven experience in interpreting contract documents (specifications, drawings, shop drawings).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and manage subcontractors and vendors.
• Expedite subcontractors and vendors on a daily and weekly basis.
• Identify and resolve construction-related issues as they develop.
• Supervise self-perform work and develop specialized construction methods to improve job efficiency.
• Oversee material receiving and ensure proper inspection, coding and filing of receiving tickets.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and cost control records.
• Support jobsite reporting requirements including daily reports, field POs, weekly unit reports, two-week lookahead schedules, and monthly schedule updates.
• Review shop drawings and submittals to assist project managers with the submittal schedule and contract documentation.
• Attend all required jobsite meetings.
• Maintain quality control in line with company and client standards.

Job Description: Bradford Construction

has an opportunity for an Assistant Superintendent to support multiple projects with one of our clients, a NYC Public Agency. This is a great opportunity for a junior to intermediate Superintendent working for a subcontractor and looking to pivot to a Construction Management team, or for a Construction Project Manager looking to gain more field experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and manage subcontractors and vendors.


• Expedite subcontractors and vendors on a daily and weekly base.


• Identify and resolve construction-related issues as they develop.


• Supervise self-perform work and develop specialized construction methods to improve job efficiency.


• Oversee material receiving, ensuring all items are inspected for quantity and quality, and receiving tickets are signed, coded, and filed properly.


• Maintain accurate timekeeping and cost control records.


• Support jobsite reporting requirements, including: daily reports, field purchase orders, weekly unit reports and updates to the two-week lookahead schedules, monthly updates to the overall construction schedule,


• Review shop drawings and submittals to assist project managers in maintaining compliance with the submittal schedule and contract documentation.


• Attend all required jobsite meetings.


• Maintain consistent quality control in line with company and client standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of work experience as a technical specialist in the construction industry.


• At least two (2) of these years must have been involved in managing all phases of construction work on multiple projects.


• Experience in new and modernization type construction, including the management or monitoring of at least two (2) projects of substantial value.


• Proven experience in interpreting contract documents (specifications, drawings, shop drawings).


• Valid driver’s license.


• Experience with NYC public agencies is strongly preferred.

Education

Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related field. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree for applicants with relevant certifications and project experience.

Salary: $100,000 USD - $120,000 USD
