Elmhurst Country Club is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our private, 18-hole course in the Pocono mountains. You will work directly with the Golf Course Superintendent on agronomic programs, staff supervision, and daily maintenance to uphold premier course conditions.

The role requires 2+ years of maintenance experience, ability to obtain the PA pesticide license within 6 months, and strong leadership and communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of golf course maintenance experience
• Ability to obtain Pennsylvania pesticide applicator license within 6 months
• Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and modern agronomic practices

Responsabilités

• Assist in planning and executing daily maintenance operations
• Supervise and train crew members; monitor performance and quality standards
• Apply fertilizers and plant protectants in compliance with regulations
• Assist with irrigation scheduling, repair, and water management
• Operate and maintain turf equipment as needed

• Serve as acting Superintendent in their absence

We are seeking a driven Assistant Superintendent who is passionate about turf management and eager to grow within a high-performance environment.

Position Summary

The Assistant Superintendent works directly with the Golf Course Superintendent and is involved in all aspects of daily golf course maintenance. This position plays a key leadership role in executing agronomic programs, supervising staff, and helping maintain exceptional course conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing daily maintenance operations
• Supervise and train crew members; monitor performance and quality standards
• Apply fertilizers and plant protectants in compliance with regulations
• Assist with irrigation scheduling, repair, and water management
• Operate and maintain turf equipment as needed
• Support course setup and detail work
• Maintain accurate records of applications, weather, and course conditions
• Serve as acting Superintendent in their absence

• Salary: $50,000-60,000 (commensurate with experience)
