Job summary

Manhattan Construction Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to provide on-site administrative and technical management through planning, coordination, and supervision of craft employees and trade contractors to ensure the project is constructed safely and efficiently.

This role requires strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, plus excellent communication with the project team and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in construction management, engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force.
• Assist in development/coordination/execution of safety plans and QA/QC programs.
• Contribute to project scheduling and daily reporting.

POSITIONSUMMARY:

The Assistant Superintendent provides on-siteadministrative and technical management through planning, coordination, andsupervision of craft employees and trade contractors to ensure the project isconstructed in a safe and organized manner. This position must demonstratestrong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have astrong communication and client service skills.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Allqualities/responsibilities of aField Engineer 2, plus:
• Supports/assists in implementation of Operation Zeroand all Manhattan safety policies.
• Participates and executes roles assigned to help createan Injury-Free Environment through own actions.
• Assists in development and maintenance of sitelogistics plan, in coordination with Project team.
• Assists in day-to-day on-site supervision of fieldlabor force.
• Assists in coordination of site testing andinspections.
• Assists in development/coordination/execution ofSafety, Hazcom, SWPPP, QA/QC plan, etc
• Attend and participate in project meetings, includingbut not limited to preconstruction, preinstallation, subcontractor, ownerand safety.
• Assist in development/communication and maintenance ofproject schedule.
• Assist in the creation of daily reports and reportquantities.
• Assist project team as required.
• Responsible for conductingthemselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibitingattributes matching the Way We Work.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering orequivalent. May substitute required education degree with relatedexperience on a one-to-one basis
• 4-6 years of industry experience

WORKINGCONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS:

• You must be adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
• Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
• Ability to repeat the same movements.
• Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
• Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence.
• Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).
• Exposureto characteristic construction site hazards.
