Job summary

Bond Civil & Utility Construction Inc. seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager in New York to lead complex projects safely and on schedule. You will manage subcontractors, control budget, and build long-lasting client relationships while mentoring field staff.

The role requires a BS/BA in engineering or related discipline, OSHA 30-hour training, scheduling proficiency, and a track record of risk mitigation. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA in engineering or related discipline; construction/management experience may substitute for degree.
  • Knowledge of Owner contracts, drawings, specs, subcontract agreements and insurance risks.
  • Knowledge of the scheduling process and ability to develop project plans.
  • Experience with self-perform activities and site work; manpower planning.
  • OSHA 1926 knowledge and safety program familiarity; OSHA 30-hour training completed.
  • Proficiency with computer programs required; coaching/mentoring leadership encouraged.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver a quality project safely, on time, within budget and with focus on establishing positive relationships
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors in a coordinated manner while developing long lasting relationships for the Company
  • Maintain care and custody of the project site to assure safety is of the utmost priority
  • Provide assistance with pre-job planning, strategizing and conceptual scheduling
  • Provide training and mentorship to field personnel reflecting BOND's values
  • Perform as Safety Monitor; ensure that all health and safety project plans are implemented
  • Fully understand the scheduling process and related software; able to actively status the field progress and update schedule
  • Track/record construction documents, punch lists and changes
  • Mentor subordinates
  • Promote a team atmosphere
  • Assist in implementing BOND's QA/QC program on projects
What you bring
  • BS or BA in engineering or related discipline. (A proven record of accomplishment of Construction and/or Management experience in the field may be substituted for degree.)
  • Knowledge of the Owner contracts, drawings and specifications, subcontract agreements, insurance risks. Focuses on mitigating risk for the Company.
  • Knowledge of the Scheduling process
    • Able to provide a project plan for use in the development of the overall project schedule.
  • Knowledge of self‑performance activities including site work, concrete, underground utilities particular to gas and electric transmission, substations, and campus infrastructure
    • Understanding of the manpower requirements related to these activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA 1926 and related Corporate Safety Program
  • Thorough knowledge of confined space, hazmat, asbestos, lead paint and other hazard policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of equipment safety
    • Assures that all required inspections of equipment onsite are completed
  • Ability to provide coaching/mentoring/leadership to field supervisory staff
  • Successfully completed OSHA 30-hour safety training
  • Proficiency with computer programs necessary
Compensation and Benefits

This position is paying between $112k and $169k plus vehicle allowance, healthcare, dental, vision, 401k plus match and annual bonus.
