Role Description

The Assistant Superintendent is a full‑time, on‑site role based in San Antonio, TX, supporting the successful execution of construction projects from start to finish. This role assists the Superintendent with daily field operations, including coordinating subcontractors, monitoring site safety, and ensuring work is completed according to plans, specifications, and schedules. The Assistant Superintendent helps manage materials and equipment deliveries, maintains organized project documentation, and participates in quality control inspections. This position also communicates regularly with project managers, trade partners, and clients to address issues, track progress, and support timely project completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction field operations, including assisting with site supervision and coordinating subcontractor activities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities on active job sites.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with site teams, project managers, trade partners, and clients.
• Basic proficiency with construction management software, mobile apps, and standard office tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, documentation systems).
• Prior experience in commercial or facilities‑related construction is preferred; experience in a supervisory or foreperson capacity is a plus.
