Actalent in Richmond, VA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent – Multifamily Construction to support ground-up and large-scale multifamily projects. You will coordinate field operations, track schedules, ensure quality and enforce OSHA safety while growing toward a Superintendent role.

You will work with the Project Superintendent and management team, coordinating subcontractors and field crews, reading drawings, and helping deliver projects on time and within safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction experience with a General Contractor.
• Hands-on experience supporting multifamily construction projects, preferably ground-up apartment, condominium, mixed-use, or living developments.
• Experience in wood-frame multifamily construction.
• Basic understanding of construction scheduling, building systems, and field coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and construction best practices.
• Strong communication skills for effective coordination with field teams and project stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and support schedule adherence.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.

The Assistant Superintendent supports the successful execution of ground-up and large-scale multifamily construction projects. Work Environment

Work is performed in a dynamic setting that may include varying weather conditions, noise, and physical activity associated with construction operations. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to safety protocols, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and compliance with OSHA standards. The role offers the opportunity to grow within a General Contractor setting and advance quickly into a Superintendent position.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
