Job summary

Batten and Shaw Construction is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Healthcare Construction Assistant Superintendent in Nashville. Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in an Assistant Superintendent role.
• Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in building construction and renovation.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and models.
• Understanding of ICRA requirements and OSHA guidelines.
• Familiarity with scheduling software and practices, including coordinating complex trades.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems within project environments.
• Strong communication skills at all levels, from subcontractors to owners.

Responsibilities

• Assist the superintendent in overseeing day-to-day construction activities.
• Read and interpret plans and drawings to guide on-site work.
• Monitor safety practices to ensure OSHA compliance.

Healthcare Construction Assistant Superintendent

We are seeking an energetic and self‑motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our team.

5+ years’ experience in commercial construction, preferably in an Assistant Superintendent role.

• Healthcare construction experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction and renovation of building structures
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
• Understanding of ICRA requirements
• Functional understanding of scheduling software and practices
• Specific understanding of working electrical and mechanical systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of individuals including subcontractors, laborers, owner, peers, and supervisors
• Detail‑oriented with the capacity to learn quickly
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plans and drawings
• Ability to oversee safe work practices to ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines
• Demonstrated ability to manage project activities within time constraints of detailed schedule
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
