Role Description

The Assistant Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This position supports the Superintendent in overseeing daily field operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project plans and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring site activities, conducting walkthroughs and inspections, assisting with site logistics, and helping enforce safety and quality standards. The Assistant Superintendent also helps communicate with project managers and trades and supports the resolution of on-site issues to keep the project moving smoothly. This role requires consistent on-site presence, collaboration with field and office teams, and proactive engagement in problem-solving and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting field construction operations, including assisting with scheduling, site coordination, and subcontractor oversight.
• Knowledge of construction processes, building plans, specifications, and basic building codes, with the ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Familiarity with safety practices and regulations, and commitment to promoting a safe and compliant jobsite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and maintain attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
• Basic proficiency with construction management software and tools, as well as standard office applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets).
• Previous experience in a construction field role (e.g., field engineer, assistant superintendent, or similar) is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or technical training in construction management or a related field is a plus.
• Capacity to work on-site daily in Los Angeles, CA and adapt to changing site conditions and project needs.
