Job summary

RealREPP is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for heavy civil federal projects in South Texas, including border wall work. You will support the Prime Contractor and report to the Senior Superintendent, with OSHA 30 required for serious consideration.

You will collaborate with field leadership, manage schedules, labor, and subcontractors, enforce safety plans, and provide progress reports during onsite meetings.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial or federal construction industry experience.
• 3+ years of heavy civil project experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Background in earthwork, roadway construction, drainage, concrete, structures, utilities, and heavy-equipment operations.
• Understanding of project design, drawings, specs, and underground utility installation requirements.
• Prior experience updating project schedules and creating look aheads.
• Prior experience supervising multiple crews and subcontractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of construction and labor scheduling and cost control.
• Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines to ensure that project milestones are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with field and project management teams on material and equipment buyouts, schedules, labor, and tracking
• Proactively identifying and escalating issues that could impact the established project budget and timeline
• Participating in meetings onsite with key stakeholders and personnel to provide progress reports
• Delegating tasks effectively among crews and holding others accountable to achieve project milestones
• Keeping schedules updated ensuring proper allocation of labor and equipment resources
• Helping to enforce the site specific safety plans
• Coordinating daily production, sequencing, safety, and quality requirements

The selected Assistant Superintendent will be a key addition to the team for heavy civil federal construction projects in South Texas including sections of border wall. This position supports the Prime Contractor, and reports directly to the Senior Superintendent. Prior heavy civil project experience and OSHA 30 certification is required for serious consideration.
