Job description

High Country Search Group is partnering with a highly specialized, rapidly growing interior construction contractor in Denver renowned for delivering superior craftsmanship in high-performance acoustic environments. Specializing in complex acoustic assemblies—including auditoriums, stadiums, music spaces, custom millwork, and specialty ceilings—this tight-knit, agile team operates with a lean, hands-on, down-to-earth culture. Led by industry experts who value grit, direct communication, and field-level execution, the firm provides direct access to leadership, zero corporate bureaucracy, and an incredible ground-floor growth trajectory for candidates ready to build alongside executive ownership.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on, field-driven Assistant Superintendent who thrives in both the shop and on job sites. Designed for a dependable construction professional with roots in the trades, this role bridges field execution with project coordination. Roughly 75% of your time will be active and hands-on alongside production crews, with 25% focused on material logistics, site scheduling, and quality coordination. If you are looking to step into leadership without being stuck behind a desk all day, this role offers an immediate seat at the table in a rapidly expanding company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Field Execution & Production: Work directly alongside internal crews and trade partners to assist with hands-on installation, general production needs, custom millwork, drywall, and specialty acoustical assemblies.
  • Shop & Material Logistics: Assist with shop fabrication, prepare tools and equipment, and handle material orders, purchase orders, jobsite deliveries, and pickups to keep jobs running smoothly.
  • Site Supervision & Coordination: Visit active jobsites to assess progress, coordinate manpower and daily schedules, and manage punch lists, change orders, and tool/equipment inventory.
  • Plan Review & Field Administration: Read construction prints and field drawings, support daily jobsite safety requirements (JHAs), and maintain accurate job documentation and employee time tracking.
  • Operational Adaptability: Serve as a versatile field leader who jumps in wherever needed to solve problems, eliminate bottlenecks, and maintain momentum on active projects.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Proven Field Experience: Strong, hands-on background in commercial or residential construction (experience with drywall, acoustical ceilings, custom millwork, or specialty acoustic systems is strongly preferred).
  • Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and field prints.
  • Shop & Site Comfort: High level of comfort working interchangeably across active field job sites and shop/fabrication environments.
  • Basic Technology & Communication: Computer literacy for handling basic jobsite documentation, inventory tracking, and clear communication with crews and management.
  • Personal Attributes: High School Diploma or equivalent required; proactive mindset, strong organizational skills, and a "whatever it takes" work ethic suited for a lean, fast-paced environment.
Why This Opportunity?

This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a high-visibility field leadership role with direct access to executive ownership as employee #9. You will work side-by-side with company leadership in an authentic, no-nonsense blue-collar culture where hard work is recognized, red tape is nonexistent, and your daily contributions directly impact company growth.

The firm offers a competitive base salary of $75,000/year paired with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, a 401(k), and paid time off (PTO). If you are a dedicated tradesperson ready to take the next step into supervision while staying connected to the field, this is your next chapter.
