Job summary

Engtal in Chicago is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support day-to-day field operations on active construction projects. This role offers hands-on exposure to the full construction lifecycle and the opportunity to develop into a Superintendent.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in construction, field experience, and a drive for leadership. Procore and Microsoft Office skills, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of construction industry experience.
• 1+ year of construction field experience.
• Strong interest in developing a career in field leadership / construction supervision.
• Experience with Procore and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibility.
• Degree or certificate in Construction Management or Design.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent with daily field operations and project scheduling.
• Coordinate subcontractors, workforce activity, equipment deliveries, and site logistics.
• Track daily jobsite activity and maintain documentation in Procore.
• Assist with project meetings, daily reports, and progress documentation.
• Conduct jobsite safety orientations and inspections.
• Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and communicate potential concerns.
• Assist with quality control inspections and verify work meets project requirements.
• Coordinate temporary facilities, deliveries, site access, and general jobsite logistics.
• Support erosion control, stormwater management, and environmental compliance.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional jobsite.
