Job summary

The Golf Club at Lansdowne in Virginia seeks an Assistant Superintendent to maintain three courses and lead a dedicated turf team. You’ll collaborate with the Director of Agronomy on conditioning across RTJ, Greg Norman, and Sharkbite layouts.

Agronomic Complexity & Challenges

• Varied Turfgrass Management – Working with multiple turf varieties (Bentgrass, Poa, Zoysia, and Bermuda) across different microclimates and soil conditions.
• Mid-Atlantic Transition Zone – Managing cool-season turf in one of the most challenging agronomic regions in the U.S.
• Irrigation & Drainage Management – Operating two advanced irrigation systems (Toro Lynx & Rain Bird Nimbus II) across 485 acres, along with subsurface drainage and moisture management strategies.
• Pest & Disease Management – Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach to combat Dollar Spot, Summer Patch, and Bentgrass Decline.

State-of-the-Art Equipment & Facilities

• New lease equipment packages every two years.
• Flowtronex MCI Pump Station for advanced irrigation efficiency.
• Cart path repair projects to enhance playability and aesthetics.
• Laser grading of tees for superior consistency and performance.

Salary range: $75,000 - $80,000 annually
