General Summary & Scope

The Assistant Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs, and recommending products and services. This is a temporary position aimed at preparing talent for a stylist role, focusing on performance, guest service, and process adherence. Mentorship by an Elite or Master Stylist occurs for the first 3 months, with responsibilities expanding to servicing guests in months 4-6. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and eagerness to learn technical skills are essential.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The Assistant Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing duties including:

1. Performance

• Delivering exceptional guest service and supporting sales and loyalty goals.
• Supporting mentor Stylist in sales and productivity, including add-on recommendations, hair services, retail suggestions, and sanitation duties.
• Performing hair services after three months, such as cuts, color, styling, treatments, makeup, and ear piercing.
• Demonstrating products to drive sales and support marketing initiatives.
• Staying informed about industry trends, products, and services.
• Maintaining consistent attendance.

People

• Developing guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serving guests efficiently under mentorship.
• Collaborating with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Building professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program and app.

Process

• Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Following service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
• Using booking systems to schedule services and events.
• Communicating supply needs and maintaining store cleanliness.
