General Summary:

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations. Responsibilities include maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Greeting and assisting customers positively, resolving inquiries and concerns.
  • Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean, well-stocked store.
  • Supervising, training, and developing Store Associates under the Store Manager's guidance.
  • Unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring items to the store.
  • Assisting in ordering merchandise, record-keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
  • Supporting loss prevention efforts and assuming management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Following all company policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to interpret operational directives.
  • Preferred experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 lbs, and perform physical activities like walking, standing, and climbing.
  • Flexible, full-time availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Skills include customer focus, developing potential, results orientation, organization, communication, problem-solving, and relationship management.
