Position: Assistant Manager

Reports to: Store Manager

Summary: The Assistant Manager shares responsibility for the store's overall performance, supporting sales, staff recruitment and development, store appearance, and expense control.

Overall Responsibilities
  • Generate sales and profit, minimize losses, and maintain a visually distinctive, well-kept store.
  • Implement strategies to meet and exceed business goals.
  • Maintain high customer service standards.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Represent the TOMMY HILFIGER image through appearance.
  • Ensure store productivity and profitability, including sales growth, staffing, and inventory management.
  • Manage store activities in the absence of the GM/SM or Associate Manager.
  • Prioritize and manage time effectively.
Operations
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain security and safety standards.
  • Identify problems, analyze causes, and generate solutions.
  • Control expenses, including payroll.
  • Attend management meetings in the absence of senior staff.
  • Follow inventory shrinkage programs.
  • Oversee shipment processing, inventory counts, and price changes.
  • Ensure the store has necessary tools and knowledge to use them.
  • Manage store openings and closings.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring qualified sales associates.
  • Develop staff knowledge in product, merchandising, operations, and customer service.
  • Motivate and support staff to meet store goals.
  • Handle difficult situations professionally.
  • Seek support when needed and lead by example.
  • Maintain confidentiality and meet commitments.
Merchandising & Visual
  • Supervise specific departments to maximize performance.
  • Oversee merchandising directives, updates, and markdowns.
  • Analyze sales data to identify top and slow sellers.
  • Maintain high store presentation standards.
  • Ensure store organization and cleanliness.
  • Report merchandise and visual issues to management.
