Job Description:

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring outstanding customer service and regulatory compliance.

Duties:

Essential Duties:

  • Serve and educate customers on the product portfolio by presenting all options for products and/or services to meet their needs.
  • Escalate issues to the store manager, District Director of Operations (DDO), and corporate office if unable to resolve directly with the customer.
  • Answer telephone inquiries regarding questions, applications, requests, or issues.
  • Perform outbound sales, courtesy, and collection calls in accordance with regulations and store expectations.
  • Respond professionally to customers, explaining solutions and ensuring they feel supported and valued.
  • Handle currency, cash, and coins, including managing a cash drawer and deposits; may include bank deposits or pickups.
  • Balance daily sales reports and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform customer verifications.
  • Process transactions accurately, including loans, check cashing, and Net Spend.
  • Comply with regulations, policies, and complete required trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1+ year experience in sales, customer service, or cash handling preferred.
  • Strong communication and active listening skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Reliable personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance.
  • Willingness to embrace core values of accountability, inclusiveness, transparency, and focus.

Physical Demands:

  • Work in retail/office environment.
  • Handle cash extensively.
  • Extended phone and computer use.
  • Long periods of standing.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs with accommodations.

Travel / Attendance:

  • Travel to stores within district using personal vehicle.
  • May travel to neighboring districts and overnight.
  • Work scheduled shifts.
