Essential Job Function:

An Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in managing daily store operations, adhering to company policies and procedures, supervising staff, maximizing profits, and ensuring excellent customer service and store appearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Complete daily accounting paperwork and transmit it to the accounting office by noon
  • Make daily bank deposits by noon
  • Manage ATM and Lottery funds daily and make deposits as applicable
  • Maintain accurate fuel inventory records and report discrepancies
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate, develop, discipline, and terminate staff using proper documentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Order and receive merchandise following inventory guidelines
  • Conduct inventory audits
  • Maintain compliance documentation
  • Ensure proper gasoline levels and coordinate deliveries
  • Verify invoice charges for accuracy by vendor
  • Manage store operations in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Implement promotional initiatives
  • Provide a quality customer buying experience
  • Control inventory variations to 1% of sales or less
  • Limit cash over/short to $100 per month or less
  • Audit cashier paperwork for accuracy
  • Maintain store image and conduct image surveys
  • Report maintenance, environment, and unusual occurrences
  • Maintain the price book, operate security cameras, and manage On The Run areas as applicable
  • Communicate effectively with staff and customers
  • Accurately complete required paperwork
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and assist other locations
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
  • Physical requirements include frequent bending, reaching, lifting 1-15 lbs, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs, and moving quickly around the store
