The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, working with minimal supervision. Using GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model, the Assistant develops and promotes a sales culture by creating personalized solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service through professional conduct and shared passion for gaming.

Responsibilities include ensuring products are visible and accessible, building sales through product and gaming knowledge, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and growing guest loyalty. The role supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.

Essential Duties:

• Provide top-tier guest service, including greeting guests, responding to questions, informing about promotions, and recommending products.
• Support the store environment, visual merchandising, and operational initiatives to enhance sales and guest relationships.
• Process transactions accurately using POS systems and handle guest inquiries professionally.
• Assist in training and supervising store associates, providing feedback, and ensuring compliance with policies.
• Manage scheduling, payroll, and staffing levels to optimize guest service.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organize merchandise, and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Support inventory management, including stock counts, shipment verification, and loss prevention practices.
• Adhere to safety standards, report injuries, and maintain organized store records.
• Support meeting sales, profit, and shrinkage goals and perform administrative duties.

Qualifications:

• Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S., at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma required; degree in business or related field preferred.
• Retail management experience preferred; knowledge of video games is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

• Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with POS systems, basic math, and organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift merchandise, and perform store duties.
