Fantastic Sams Cut & Color in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Senior Stylist with the opportunity to transition to Store Manager. Start on a PPH pay plan with tips, progressing to a flat-rate management role after onboarding.

You will manage daily operations, lead the team, coach staff on pricing and service delivery, and maintain strong client relationships while aiming for targets in retail and service quality.

About Us & Career Path

We are a busy, friendly neighborhood Redken color salon with a loyal client base and a supportive team. This role starts as a Senior Stylist paid for our PPH (pay per hour) plan plus tips. After a few months, the right candidate transitions to Store Manager with a flat rate pay structure.

What You'll Do

• Perform the full service menu, including extensions, and meet a weekly retail goal of $100–$200
• Take full ownership of daily operations: open and close independently (setup, cash handling, closeout, securing the store)
• Coordinate schedules, coverage, and call-offs; lead the team by example in service and professionalism
• Act as a trusted advisor to management: spot operational gaps (waste, scheduling, service, processes) and propose solutions
• Create a standard measurement cheat sheet for Redken color, bleach, and developer by service and hair length
• Make sure stylists charge correctly for services and products, and coach those who don't, professionally
• Research local pricing and market trends and recommend price changes
• Track inventory, alert management before supplies run out, and pick up supplies and Salon Centric orders
• Handle client concerns and keep accurate client notes and consultations in our salon system

Required Skills (Must Have)

• Retail sales: $100–$200 in retail products every week
• Redken color expert: formulating, toning, and correction, including Shades EQ
• Cost control & pricing: set standard color/bleach measurements, track usage, analyze competitor pricing
• Hair extensions: experience preferred, or willing to be trained
• Full menu: adult/children's cuts, clipper cuts, trims; blowdry, iron finishes, updos and braids; all-over color, retouch, men's grey blending; accent, face-framing, partial, full weave and cap highlights; balayage/ombré; double process blonde; basic and spiral perms, specialty wraps; brow, lip and chin waxing; deep conditioning

What We're Looking For

• Active Arizona cosmetology license (required); established client base strongly preferred
• Lead, assistant manager, or salon management experience preferred
• Highly responsible, accountable, and business-minded, someone the owner can fully trust to run the salon
• Strong communicator and team leader, tactful with sensitive conversations like charging mistakes
• Available weekends, flexible to cover short-notice call-offs, and available to support the team off-schedule
• Reliable attendance with no frequent call-offs or lates; reliable transportation for supply pickups
• Positive, upbeat attitude; committed to a drug-free workplace
