POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in promoting a customer and product-focused sales culture, ensuring all store operations align with our values and guiding principles. Responsibilities include managing sales, asset protection, and human resources to deliver a great customer experience and maximize profitability. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performance Culture
  • Analyze sales reports and KPIs to determine business needs; collaborate with Store Manager to execute sales strategies.
  • Set clear expectations and hold team accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  • Control payroll and supply budgets.
  • Oversee operational activities such as scheduling, inventory, opening/closing duties, and merchandise flow.
  • Manage financial activities including cash handling, price changes, and register transactions following policies.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, loss prevention policies, and operating procedures; train associates accordingly.
  • Administer operational processes like inventory receipt, replenishment, and physical inventories.
  • Maintain visual presentation, organization, and facility standards.
  • Develop a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet sales and productivity goals.
  • Train and coach staff on product knowledge and sales techniques.
Building High Performing Teams
  • Motivate and inspire the team, fostering a shared vision and core values.
  • Promote inclusive problem-solving and effective communication for positive change.
  • Seek personal development and feedback to enhance leadership skills.
Customer Experience
  • Model and promote excellent personal service and omni-channel experience.
  • Utilize sales techniques, product knowledge, and ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns.
  • Maintain efficient register operations and customer communication through loyalty programs and customer engagement.
Talent Management
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Support training initiatives and coach team performance.
  • Address HR issues promptly in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Drive engagement through recognition and adherence to employment policies.

Other duties as assigned. Duties may vary by brand.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years retail management experience preferred
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Adaptability to technology
  • Proven customer service and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Knowledge of store operations
  • Effective communication with customers and staff
  • Reliable attendance and flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Constant walking/standing (67-100%)
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (1-33%)
  • Frequent climbing (34-66%)
