POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in fostering a customer and product-focused sales environment, aligning with our values and guiding principles. Responsibilities include managing sales operations, asset protection, and human resources to ensure excellent customer experiences and profitability. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performance Culture
  • Analyze sales reports and KPIs to identify business needs; collaborate with the Store Manager to implement sales strategies.
  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for meeting brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  • Manage payroll and supply budgets.
  • Oversee operational activities such as scheduling, inventory management, opening/closing duties, and merchandise flow.
  • Handle financial activities including cash handling, price changes, and register transactions, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, loss prevention policies, and operating procedures; train associates on controls.
  • Manage inventory receipt, dispatch, replenishment, and physical inventories.
  • Maintain visual presentation, organization, and facility standards.
  • Develop a high-performance sales team to meet sales and productivity goals.
  • Train and coach staff on product knowledge and sales techniques.
Building High Performing Teams
  • Motivate and inspire the team, fostering a shared vision and core values.
  • Promote inclusive problem-solving and effective communication.
  • Seek personal development opportunities and feedback to enhance leadership skills.
Customer Experience
  • Model and promote excellent personal service and omni-channel experiences.
  • Use sales techniques and product knowledge to assist customers.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly.
  • Ensure efficient register operations and adherence to payment, return, and security policies.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers through loyalty programs and engagement initiatives.
Talent Management
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Support training programs and assess team performance.
  • Address HR issues promptly and effectively.
  • Drive employee engagement through recognition and rewards.
  • Ensure adherence to employment policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years retail management experience preferred
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Adaptability to company technology
  • Proven customer service and sales leadership
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Leadership and team-building skills
  • Knowledge of store operations
  • Effective communication with staff and customers
  • Regular attendance and flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant walking/standing (67-100%) of shift
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (1-33%) of shift
  • Frequent climbing (34-66%) of shift
