Position Objective

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in promoting a customer and product-focused sales culture, aligning with our values and principles across store operations, including sales, asset protection, and human resources, to ensure excellent customer experiences and profitability. Functional Responsibilities
  1. Performance Culture
  2. Analyze sales reports and KPIs to identify business needs; collaborate with the Store Manager to execute sales strategies.
  3. Establish clear expectations, holding team members accountable for brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  4. Manage payroll and supply budgets.
  5. Oversee operational activities such as scheduling, inventory audits, opening/closing duties, and merchandise flow.
  6. Handle financial activities including cash handling, price changes, and register transactions, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
  7. Ensure compliance with laws, loss prevention policies, and operational procedures; train associates on controls.
  8. Manage inventory receipt, dispatch, replenishment, and physical inventories.
  9. Maintain visual presentation, organization, and facility standards.
  10. Develop a high-performance sales team to meet sales and productivity goals.
  11. Train and coach staff on product knowledge and selling techniques.
  12. Motivate and develop the team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment.
  13. Communicate effectively with the team and Store Manager to lead positive change.
  14. Seek personal development and feedback to enhance leadership skills.
Customer Experience
  1. Model and promote the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) standards, ensuring a cohesive omni-channel experience.
  2. Use sales techniques and product knowledge to meet customer needs; assist with merchandise location and selection.
  3. Promptly resolve customer concerns.
  4. Ensure efficient checkout processes and adherence to payment, coupon, return, and security policies.
  5. Maintain ongoing communication with customers through programs and sign-ups.
Talent Management
  1. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing a high-performing team.
  2. Support training initiatives and evaluate team performance.
  3. Address HR issues promptly in partnership with the Store Manager.
  4. Drive engagement through recognition and rewards.
  5. Ensure adherence to employment policies.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years retail management experience preferred
  • Must be 18 or older

Physical Requirements
  • Constant walking/standing (67-100%) of shift
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (1-33%) of shift
  • Frequent climbing (34-66%) of shift
