Growth Opportunities

The Assistant Store Manager role is a developmental path toward Store Manager, with readiness expected within 12–18 months. Tuition scholarship opportunities are available through Oregon State University E Campus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving financial and operational goals by driving sales and leading the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences through effective deployment of Peet’s service model.
• Use reporting and feedback tools with the Store Manager to inform decisions, track team progress toward goals and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Create and support a positive team culture and productive work environment through active coaching, effective communication, and sound judgment; foster camaraderie and help the team navigate change to support employee retention.
• Contribute to employee development and performance by training and providing regular coaching and feedback to build employee knowledge and skills; recognize and respond to performance issues.
• Support recruiting, hiring, and ensure appropriate staffing levels to maintain coverage and performance.
• Assist in managing daily coffee‑bar operations, including inventory control, cash handling, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and labor standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience within the service, food industry or equivalent.
• Training in a related industry.
• Open availability and willingness to work 40 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to supervise and work with minors in accordance with Peet’s Employment of Minors policies.
• Legally eligible to work in the country of employment and at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform various physical tasks during the work shift.
