Job Title: Assistant Manager

Essential Function

Store Managers are responsible for hiring, developing, and leading all store associates while ensuring optimal customer experiences, effectively overseeing all store operations, and maintaining brand standards. Develop strategies and plans to achieve key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication, and consistent accountability. Assistant Managers support the Store Manager in all outlined areas and are responsible for all primary duties when the Store Manager is not present.

Your role at Sally Beauty:

  • Provide supervision and support in planning associates’ daily goals and activities to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximizing sales/KPIs, and driving customer loyalty. Emphasis on both in-store selling and Omni-channel.
  • Ensure all brand standards are met, such as merchandising, POGs, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc.
  • Act as the main contact to resolve customer issues and concerns.
  • Analyze store trends and anticipate customer demands.
  • Engage, train, and develop teams to achieve positive results.
  • Leverage hiring platforms and actively recruit to build a strong network of candidates.
  • Identify strengths and opportunities for associates and address them through coaching or counseling.
  • Hold teams accountable to company policies and expectations.
  • Maintain positive associate relations and keep them informed of relevant company information.
  • Build strong relationships with Store Manager peers and maintain communication with AM/DM.
  • Foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Ensure execution of company processes through training, management, analysis, and continuous improvement, including digital strategies like Omni-channel fulfillment.
  • Manage inventory, payroll hours, and store opening/closing procedures.
  • Follow through with company directives, assignments, and projects.
  • Maintain a safe store environment and enforce policies.
  • Protect company assets by following inventory and cash control procedures, and ensure compliance with HAZMAT training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Preferred: 3+ years retail sales/customer service experience
  • Preferred: 1+ year management experience
  • Ability to lead/support a team to meet business objectives
  • Effective communication skills
  • Scheduling availability
  • Cosmetology license desirable but not required

Compensation: $18.33 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

Requires physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, etc. May work in different store locations. Environment involves typical safety precautions and is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated.
