Job summary

Dollar Tree in Carrollton, VA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with daily functions, merchandise flow, scheduling, and loss prevention in a fast-paced environment.

Work includes assisting with opening/closing, directing store associates, maintaining clean, organized areas, and ensuring safety and policy compliance. This is a part-time, on-site role in Carrollton, VA.

Qualifications

• HS diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Retail store management experience in groceries, drug store, or retail environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Move merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and ensure adherence to policies and safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
