General Summary

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations. This includes maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist customers positively, resolving inquiries and concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and provide excellent customer service.
  • Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates on company practices.
  • Assist in unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring stock from the stockroom to the sales floor.
  • Support in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
  • Support loss prevention initiatives.
  • Take on management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
Position Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Preferably with store management in retail, grocery, or drug store settings.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 lbs, and perform physical activities like walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
  • Availability: Flexible full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Skills & Competencies: Customer focus, developing potential, results-driven, organizational skills, communication, problem-solving, job knowledge, and relationship management.
